Appearance

The northern pine snake is a relatively large heavy bodied colubrid with a background colour of cream/white/buff or even red. The square-ish markings on this snake are black or brown.

 

Locality

New Jersey, Kentucky, Caroline, Alabama.

 

Adult size

Upto 7ft, 6 is more common.

 

Approx lifespan

Upto 20 years.

 

REcomended vivarium size

This is a large stocky snake so requires a vivarium of roughly 4x2x2ft.

 

Basic set up type

Dry Woodland, as with all snakes make sure you provide hides in both the warm end and the cool end.

 

Diet

A diet consisting of rodents is best for the Northern Pine Snake
