Appearance

This snake is sometimes called the variable kingsnake. Try to guess why. This snake has in the past divided into a number of subspecies; it is now however recognised as one species. I would suggest doing a google image search for the 3 colour morphs, "mexicana", "greeri" and "thayeri".

Mexico.

3 ft.

Up to 20 years.

24x18x15in.

 

Basic set up type

Rocky aridland. As with all snakes make sure you provide hides in both the warm end and the cool end of the vivarium.

 

Diet

The best diet for the Mexican Kingsnake is rodents.
