Appearance

Brown to copper in colouration, columbian rainbow boas have distinct dorsal and lateral spots, although these spots tend to fade with age. Youngsters have vibrant colours.

 

Locality

Colombia, Costa Rica and surrounding islands.

5-8ft.

 

Approx lifespan

12years+.

 

REcomended vivarium size

Large custom made vivariums are required for this species, 4x3x2ft should be considered a minimum for an adult.

 

Basic set up type

Humid forest/woodland, sturdy branches and retreats are a must. Dense foliage will provide shaded retreats for the snakes.

 

Diet

The diet of the Colombian Rainbow Boa should be made up of rodents.
