Appearance

A brown to yellow background with irregular patches of darker colouration. These patches are edged by lighter colouration.

 

Locality

Borneo, Indonesia.

 

Adult size

Up to 5 ft (although a few individuals do get larger). This species is very heavy bodied and is sometimes cheerfully referred to as "slugs" by keepers.

 

Approx lifespan

12 years+.

 

REcomended vivarium size

A large vivarium is required for this stout bodied snake, 4x2x2ft should be considered a minimum.

 

Basic set up type

Humid forest. Secure hides should be provided as well as a tight fitting lid as these are very strong snakes.

 

Diet

The diet of the Borneo Blood Python should be made up of rodents.
