Appearance

The Black Pine Snake is a large thick set colubrid. The background colour is brown or black on which are set black saddles, on some darker specimens these saddles aren't even visable.

 

Locality

The Florida/Alabama border.

5-7ft

 

Approx lifespan

Upto and occasionally beyond 20years.

 

REcomended vivarium size

A 4x2x2ft vivarium should be the minimum considered for a mature Black Pine Snake

 

Basic set up type

Dry savannah, this snake may climb occasionally so it may be worth providing a few sturdy branches. Provide hides in the warm and cool end.

 

Diet

A diect consisting of rodents is best for the Black Pine Snake.
