Rhinoceros Iguana
Cyclura cornuta cornuta
Iguanidae
The rhinoceros iguana is a large bulky lizard, it has a large dorsal crest and a prominant dewlap (flap of skin on the chin). They tend to be relatively dull in colour, a grey-blue (although specimens showing a more dominant blue colour can be spectacular). Nasal horms in maure males are what give the Rhinoceros Iguana its name. Younger specimens may have dark lateral bands, these fade with age however and are barely notiable in mature specimens.
