Appearance

The brown water dragon is a large lizard with a crest from the base of the neck to the tail. The colour is grey or brown with lighter bands over the body and tail. The bellies of adults maybe an intense red colour.

 

Locality

Australia, particularly in the East

 

Adult size

2.5-3ft.

 

Approx lifespan

Upto 15 years.

 

REcomended vivarium size

4x4x2ft should be the minimum for one specimen.

 

Basic set up type

Woodland with strong sturdy branches and climbing opportunities.

 

Diet

Gutloaded insects, if your Brown Water Dragon will accept fruit and vegetables they should make up 10-15% of the diet. Insects should be dusted weekly with calcium and a reptile multivitamin, dust more often for growing youngsters.
